For over 35 years, my life was defined by precision. Working in fine jewelry, metalwork, and master craftsmanship, I learned how to bring absolute focus, steady hands, and deep intentionality to every piece I touched. Then, my path changed completely.

I was diagnosed with Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia. Walking through the intense reality of cancer treatment, chemotherapy, and the complex road to recovery, I experienced firsthand the profound physical, emotional, and energetic toll an oncology journey takes on the human body and spirit. Conventional medicine saved my life, but it was during this grueling process that I truly discovered the restorative power of Reiki.

Today, I am a certified Reiki practitioner (Reiki 1 & 2) dedicated to serving clients throughout Bergen County, New Jersey and across New York City. Because I have walked this exact path, I understand the unique vulnerabilities and needs of oncology patients. My practice blends traditional energy work with deep listening, presence, and genuine empathy.

RE: Eric I. Putzer — Letter of Medical Necessity for Reiki Therapy

This patient is under care and treatment for chronic pain associated with acute promyelocytic leukemia. Despite appropriate conventional medical management, the patient continues to experience persistent pain and functional limitations that negatively affect quality of life.

As part of a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to pain management, we are recommending Reiki therapy as a complementary treatment intervention. Reiki is a noninvasive complementary therapy that may be used alongside conventional medical treatment with the goal of supporting relaxation, reducing stress and tension, and helping the patient manage symptoms associated with chronic pain.

We consider Reiki therapy to be a medically appropriate complementary component of this patient's individualized chronic pain management plan.
